How we are funded
AI-completed, needs review · placeholder text
Mr. Golut has no advertising and never will. Nor do we sell data or share anyone's email. We believe media literacy is not a luxury but a necessity, and that you can't teach people to look at the digital world with wide-awake eyes from inside the very business you are criticising.
Where the money comes from
- El Pliego. The print edition is funded by pre-orders: it only goes to print if it reaches its goal, and whatever is left over pays for the illustrations and texts of the next issue.
- En Común. Some workshops in schools are invoiced to the school; the reading clubs in libraries are free.
- The people on the team. Much of the work is still voluntary. We say so to explain the pace, not to ask for applause.
What we spend it on
First, paying the people who write and draw on commission: illustrations belong to whoever signs them, and they are paid for. Then printing, web hosting and podcast production.
If you'd like to support us in another way, the most useful thing is to pre-order El Pliego and tell people about it.
